Born in Northumberland, England, Ross Taylor is currently based on Dja DjaWurrung and Taungurung country in Naarm (AU). In 2005 he completed a Bachelor of Fine Art at the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne (UK) with subsequent mentorship at the Akademie der Bildenden Kunste, Munich (Germany) from Professor Nikolaus Lang and Sean Scully

Taylor has regularly exhibited in public and commercial galleries in Australia, Europe, UK, Asia and the USA. Taylor’s works are held in major public and private collections in Australia, Asia, Europe, USA and the UK.

Taylor has been a finalist in numerous art awards including the Len Fox (AU) John Leslie (AU), Paul Guest (AU) and Sunshine Coast prize (AU) He has received travel grants, commissions and residency funding from NAVA, Creative Victoria and Arts Council England and Australia. Artist residencies include Globe Gallery (UK) and Art Space Tetra (JPN). His work has also been represented in numerous publications such as The Age Australia, ARTFORUM, Design Files, Art Collector, Vault Magazine and Artshub.
